“Starting Today: 100 Poems for Obama’s First 100 Days”: Reading and Conversation, Aug. 19

There’s a new anthology out — “Starting Today: 100 Poems for Obama’s First 100 Days” — featuring 100 different poets’ responses to the start of the Obama administration. Richard Hugo House will host a reading, following by a conversation about the intersection of arts and politics, which I’ll moderate. Marvin Bell, Pimone Triplett, Martha Silano, Sarah Vap and Jeff Encke are among the local poets who contributed to the anthology and will be on hand to read.

7pm at Richard Hugo House, Thurs., Aug. 19. Free.
